Hi all,
I recently upgraded my Motherboard from a ASUS P5ND2 to an ASUS P5K Pro, and my video card from a 7600 GT to a 9600 GT, after building the new setup I have no power to my monitor, also no power to the USB wireless keyboard & mouse modem (no lights come on even when I press the connect button) Everything else seems to power up ok, fans working HDD's running, etc....

Now the strange thing here is that before I upgraded to this setup & due to a problem with the P5ND2, I installed everything on another motherboard, an Intel D925CV2, everything worked fine on this board......Then after repairing, I went back to the P5ND2, no problems at first, but then had to change back to the Intel board......But then I had the same problem I'm having now, no power to the monitor.....

Here's what was installed on all boards... P4 EE 3.46Ghz, 2Gb XMS2 5400C4 (4x512mb) Antec Neo Power 550 PSU (brand new)

Hope this is not too confusing.....!! And I hope someone can help out here

Thx

When you say no power to your monitor, do you mean it's on stand-by or literally, it just doesn't turn on. If it goes on stand by then that means it's not receiving any signal, meaning it is probably something to do with your video card. However, if it's not turning on try spreading some of the power over different sockets?

Yeah, sorry I mean no signal....
Now I guess it could be a doggy card, but it is brand new, and as I mentioned, the same thing happened to me on the intel board with the 7600 GT card, then when I put the 7600 back in the P5ND2 it worked fine, so I'm guessing the same problem.....?

What if the memory was incompatible with the motherboard ?

Sorry for the late reply: If there's a memory problem the computer will start beeping at you, and will display the BIOS at least, so unless there's noises the RAMs fine, sounds to me like a Graphics Card problem, you say that you tried a different graphics card? If that works then you have a clear problem.

I have the same problem when I exit a game, the montor will try to reset to 1024 settings and it will turn black and i'll get the white box that says "No input signal." Then I move the mouse, etc to try to get it back and nothing happens. So then I have to restart my computer with the power strip.

Got any custom resolutions going? It sounds to me like it's trying to reset to some bizarre resolution. Let's get some diagnostics going, right click on the desktop down to properties, then click the settings tab at the top. It should look something like this

Tell me what resolution you're at, then tell me your screen size. Followed by the resolution of any games you play.
