Hi

I have a new build.

Asrock WOLFDALE1333-GLAN/M2 i945GC Socket 775 Motherboard
nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E
250GB Hitachi SATA2 Hard Disk - 7200rpm - 8MB
Intel Pentium D 945 Dual Core RET
Corsair 2GB PC2-5300 Value Select (2x1GB)
CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio device (PCI card)
Windows XP SP2

When the sound plays it interferes with the picture. In a game (any game) there are "lines" that appear accross the width of the screen (also when the booting and shutting down sound plays).

I have used the latest nvidia and the sound drivers and it still happens,

any idea's what i can try next

Don't recognize the brand of the sound card, could be the card is poorly designed or bad. Or the speaker system has some poor grounds or cheap wiring which may induce noise into the video. Bad or poorly sheilded video cable may be a problem.

Brilliant thanks...

It was simply the wiring, i replaced the cable from card to speakers and the problem is solved!

Thanks
