8800 GT or 9600 GT

Well I have all ready ordered the 9600 gt but im woundering if I should return and get the 8800 gt which will benefit me more?

gaming wise? which is better

From all that I have read they are very close but the last I heard the 8800 GT still comes out ahead in pure gaming by a small margin. Unless prices have dropped again that difference is kind of represented in the price, with the 8800GT still going for $20-30 more. You might check out toms hardware, although there GPU charts are lagging a bit behind with all the new card introductions last I checked.

EDIT: Toms hardware updated in the newest video card roundup, this is what they had to say:

"The 8800 GT offers incredible GeForce 8800 GTX-class performance at almost half the price. It beats both the Radeon 3870 and GeForce 9600 GT by a notable margin, but it does tend to be a bit more expensive. That said, if you have $200 to spend on a graphics card, you couldn't do better than a nice 8800 GT"
