Hey guys

So im still having trouble deciding on a mobo for my new gaming rig. I have a few questions about the mobo that some have recomended.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130136

1. Can i boot it right up with my phenom 9850BE with the bios v1.2 i think it is?

2. Will one 8800gts 512mb work without issues?

3. Tell me what you think of it and if it seems to be worth the money.

If you can recommend me to another board preferably less expensive and phenom 9850 compatible i would appreciate it. Thanks all

This is a better motherboard for less money (higher quality Gigabyte motherboard with support for Phenom X4 9850) : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128075

MSI says that the 9850 will work with BIOS version 1.4 and above. There is no way to know for sure if your board will have that version out of the box. http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=1332&maincat_no=1

The Gigabyte site doesn't even show the 9850 in the supported CPU list. It tops out with the 9750. http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ProductID=2609

Good catch Masaki. Looks like Gigabyte USA hasn't caught up to the Global site. :p

That can be quite annoying, if I didn't do the search on a search engine for the motherboard, I would have most likely taken a look at the Gigabyte USA site. Hopefully they'll update the website soon.

hey thanks alot for the help guys its really appreciated.

Heres a question, Im in afghanistan right now and my wife back home said that my comp was completly shut down and all of a sudden the PSU fan spun up made a wierd sound, sparked, then she said it smelled funny lol, what could cause that to happen when it is shut down? not in sleep or hibernate, shut down all the way.

she also said it wont start anymore, my guess is the psu just fired but i cant really tell since im here and she isnt exactly comp smart.
