Internet Connection Fault

I use Windows XP Media Centre on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. McAfee Security Suite is installed and running.

My problem is that even when connected to the internet I cannot access certain web sites, and sometimes no web sites.

I suspected that this might have something to do with my firewall, so I disconnected this, but the problem persisted.

I cannot log onto my Napster application programme, so this leads me to believe that it is not an internet connection fault.

Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem.

First place I'd look is to that McAwful SS. Try disabling it from the Startup programs by Run>msconfig>Startup tab. If you still have a problem, I'd uninstall it from the system completely and if the problem is gone, replace McAwful with AVG.

You mentioned McAfee Security Suite, is it come with the firewall? if it is you might want to config. the firewall option a bit. or you can disable the firewall all together but your system will not be safe..
