Hi.. I removed a Toshiba 20G H.D. (model HDD2154; MK2016GAP) from a friend's dead Gateway Solo 9500 laptop in order to connect it to my Serial ATA HD Adapter. Besides not being a standard 2.5" laptop HD (it's closer to 3".. it wouldn't fit any 2.5" HD enclosure), it doesn't have a standard IDE connector.. it looks more like the old cable connector for a dot matrix printer.
Any knowledge of HD adapters/enclosures for this type connector? I'm trying to save all his data for him (MB dead).
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thank you,

You are looking at a drive in a caddy/adapter - the drive needs to be removed from the adapter and you will find that it's a standard 2.5" IDE drive with a standard 44 pin connector.

glc.. Thank you. I just took a look at it and there are 4 tiny screws in this thing .. I'm sure i'll find a normal drive inside.
This is at least the 10th time that I've been helped by replies from you (my favorite was once when every reply agreed with me on a solution to a problem, and you sent "before you do all that, try..." and you were right on... saved me hours of work).
Thanks again, I'll check it out later (thunder storms approaching here in NJ)

glc... everything worked fine. Removed the 2.5" drive, and connected it to the IDE port of my IDE and SATA adapter, attached power cable, and copied evrything to my desktop computer, then copied his wanted files to CD.
Thanks again
