I recently got a Dell Inspiron 7500 from my Daughter that she had bought at a city auction. It had no OS on it and I was able to install Win98SE.
It is rather tiny, buy today’s standards HD 12GB 128 Memory, so I doubt if it would support XP.
I can run with what we got now, but I would like to put some pictures in and be able to make wallpaper & screen savers from them.
I can’t remember how. Maybe XP was good for something huh?
Can someone help?
Thank You

start > settings > control panel > display > backgound and screensaver tabs
but these may be different as display drivers also include some changes in the display window.

That would be the same as in XP. My problem is to get a folder like (MY Pictures) in the documents that it will see when I take the path you suggested.
Then I would just click on them. Also I don’t see the option when viewing a picture, to set as desktop background.
Thanks
You should be able to browse to a pic with Paint or IE and set it as a background.

So far as wallpaper, it is on the wallpaper page, settings, and pick the directory you wish to be able to get the picture from. It allows one at a time. Or explore for the picture, click it , then right click and choose it as wallpaper.

It did not work in Paint. But by going to Windows Explorer and doing it the way edfair suggested made it happen.
Thanks guys, as always you are a big help to us.

put windows 2000 on it and it would be a good server for teh websites.
2000 doesn't run well at all on 128mb ram either. It would cost $100 to max it out at 512mb.
