Hey there, built a PC a few weeks ago everything was running great. The sound seemed to be acting funny, and when I was watching surround sound movies the speakers wouldn't work anymore, only the front left and rights. I decided to update the drivers, which resulted in no sound playing at all. I then updated them again from the motherboard site, and nothing, I then used the motherboard installation disk to install those, nothing, I then went to Realtek's site and downloaded the Vista audio bundle there, no result. The audio manager says that both audio devices are "working". Both devices being the high def audio output, and the Logitech X-350 5.1 speaker system I have. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't even remove the old drivers they seem stuck or something.

I'm on an ASUS P5K EPU motherboard with 8 Channel integrated audio.
Logitech X-350 5.1 surround sound system. Thanks in advance.

Connect your speakers to another system, or connect different speakers to your system. If your speakers work ok on another system, or if different speakers do not work on your system, then make sure all sound settings in BIOS are enabled(if applicable). If there are no sound settings in BIOS or they are already enabled, then do a system restore to a date that precedes the sound driver updates. If the speakers still do not work, then the MB's onboard sound adapter may be bad. Installing a sound card should fix things.
