Now that the new GTX series came out the price dropped somewhat on the 9800GTX's. Initially, I was set on purchasing a single 9800GX2, but now it seems that I can get two 9800GTXs for SLI and at a price of about $40 less.

I've never used EVGA so i don't know the difference between superclocked and KO edition... they're the same price. I guess my question is whether two 9800GTXs in SLI are a better solution than a single 9800GX2. :confused:Thanks

Not sure which is better, but think about the cost of 2 cards in sli. You need a sli motherboard, and most liely a higher power supply.

When you add that to the cost of the two cards, it will probably make the single card look better.

I already have an SLI AM2 motherboard... Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 and a 1000watt Corsair SLI certified psu. Currently running an AMD X2 4200+ 2.2GHz but will upgrade to the best the mobo can handle (6400+ 3.2GHz).

The 9800GTX is a faster card than the two cards inside the 9800GX2 (that has 2x 8800GTS). Plus you would get lower card temps. So that would probably be the best option.
