Hello,

When you write something to a blog on the internet as anonymous, can the administrators of the blog know about your email address or IP address or anything that could identify your PC?

The IP adress is very possible - the email address would be almost impossible. A person can have dozens of email address.

They will know the IP address. Nowadays, having an IP address can allow someone to know even what city you live in. They could guess at your email address based on your computer and/or username and the domain that you use but it's that just a guess. If they required you to create an account before you posted then they would know your email address.

Yep. Getting IP's is pretty easy.

Totally wrong for me right now... I'm at work and it's telling me my ISP is Bank of America and I live near Charlotte.

Yeah but this is what I hate about people putting their danasoft sigs as well .. they dont realize that they've sold all our IPs out to them. Just as the blog site .. pcmech .. have all logged and tracked our IPs .. a 3rd party site has done it too.

Same reason I get ticked off when some family member decides to put my email address on a site that says "share with someone" .. instead of C&Ping the URL they decide to use the site's forms to fill in my email address. It's just irresponsible netiquette!

Thanks for the replies.
How about the email address? Does it include anywhere the IP address? Suppose i send you an email, can you find my IP address?

If you send me an email, I can look at FROM and get an address.

You can also open a mail->click FILE->Proerties->Details
