As the title asks, is there an alternative to Windows Media Player that works well with very large collections??
I have always liked WMP 11 in the past but now that I have in excess of 165GB of MP3 music, WMP 11 has become very slow. I need a solution.

I use iTunes for my music needs.

I've used iTunes and foobar2000. Of the two I prefer foobar2000. While it is less fancy than iTunes or WMP, it has better sound quality and is very functional.

Winamp is my go-to media player.
I have been meesing around with Mediamonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/ too. I haven't used it too much, but it seems very capable of sorting through large collections, Bigred CC Dually.

Winamp seems to be the popular freebee, along with iTunes.
VLC is good as a media file player, rather than for library management.

Thanks for the reply's folks, now I just need to make a decision. Based on the feedback and personal experiences of the posters, Winamp seems to be the one to go with.
