Has ACPI caused problems for anyone?

I'm not going to bore anyone with the last few months of woes, but I'm curiious if anyone has had issues with ACPI causing any kind of crashes in Vista? Freezes in Vista? I just happen to check the event log and the freeze up I had last night, resulting in a power off/on, lists ACPI as an error.

I don't know enough about ACPI to know whether it can cause random freezes within a system.

I'll search around the forums a bit to see what I find.

Hey oosik. I'm running Ultimate on a P5B Deluxe and have had no issues with ACPI freeze-ups/crashes etc. However, I'm like you and don't know a whole lot about ACPI.

I've seen a few threads that deal with problems installing Vista on certain motherboards dues to lack of ACPI support, but I don't know about failures after a successful installation.

Not sure, but http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927393/en-us may offer you some hints. You might want to post your system specs too. Someone 'round here will likely be able to help you pin things down.

oosik, did you check that your mobo has the latest bios? Sometimes that`s all it takes.

Try posting your hardware specs, maybe something will ring a bell with someone.
