hi,
i would like to buy a Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard for my new gaming rig and i found out that it has some sort of combo ps/2 (one port), whats that? both my keyboard and mouse have to fit in a ps/2. Is there some sort of connector for that? i'm pretty new to computing so i have no idea. thanks for any help

That's a new connector. I haven't seen that before. I suppose you can use it for mouse or keyboard, your choice. If your concerned about using PS2 only get one of these and problem solved. I would look for one at a local shop though just to save on shipping. Try Radio Shack or MicroCenter.

Just get the P5Q PRO.
It costs a lot less.
It does the same thing.
It still has PS2 ports.

That won't help him. Both his mouse and keyboard connect through PS/2 not USB which is what those adapters are for. The P5Q Deluxe has just one PS/2 port but it can be used for either a keyboard or mouse.

I have that board and it's a fantastic one. If you really want that board then just get yourself a usb mouse or get a USB to PS/2 adapter like bucksfanjimj suggested.
