Is my data gone for good?

Well my HDD has been saying that it needs to be replaced. And I just received my new HDD but now when I try to boot up my computer it goes right to the windows logo and restarts and repeats this action. Is there any possible way how I can transfer the data from the old broken hdd to the new hdd?

Disconnect it and get Windows installed on the new drive. Then you can try reconnecting the bad drive to recover the data.

so what your saying is that I can run the bad drive as a slave and I'll be able to get all my data back? even if its not working properly?

My first attempt to recover data from a dying drive is to covert the drive to a USB then look for the data if the drive show, most times it does.

If not, I use a recovery software that finds everything even after a reformat and reload.
Some things are corrupt but the majority is recovered
