Ok.
I replaced a motherboard on a friends computer and they want to install a hard drive that is already running on another system. Its dual booted with Y2K and XP
Reloading the system the hard drive is not optional
From what I understand you can install a generic HDD controller driver through device manager in order for the motherboard to see the hard drive without cause the inaccessible error code to pop up. Wouldn't this cause an activation error as well, seeing that drastic hardware changes have been made?
Is this solution possible, is there another way, I do not want to attempt this possible solution until I get better insight on this.
