Vundo Removal, Explorer.exe wont initialise at startup

HI All,

Ok i have exhausted all avenue's trying to fix my PC. I've read through countless forums, all to no avail. the problems started when I Installed Nero 8 for vista last week, after the installation finished the computer rebooted into windows, it logs in, but then im left with a black screen and a cursor. Explorer.exe wont start. The only way i cant start it is to start a new task in task manager. So i get back in and uninstall nero to try and remedy the problem.

Fast forward a few days later, and windows defender find Vundo.ID. Hurray for me. Anyways ive installed and run SpyBot, couldnt remove it. Ran Vundofix in safemode. it seems to have removed the remaining files, but defender is still finding Vundo somewhere. Although now Spybot is telling me my system is clean.

I suspect Vundo has infected my explorer.exe. i also have multiple rundll's running, of which spybot keeps detecting changes in it. Vundo has told me it has removed qomedcbq.dll (now when i restart, by manually initialising explorer, once im back to my desktop i get an error message saying it cant find the abovementioned file) plus a second file vtunlmfd.dll, plus the

To make things worse im new to Vista, and am currently running a dual boot with XP. So i dont know how to dormat my vista without ruining my partitions and losing everything.

I have 2 questions

1. How can i remove this wretched beast of a trojan?, and do you think this is the reason my explorer.exe wont initialise during startup? (i will provide a HJT log)

or if its completely screwed

2. How do i reformat my Vista without effecting my XP install. (the order of install on this system was XP first, Vista Second)

i would REALLY appreciate any feedback as im completely stumped

Since one of those entries is coming from a temporary folder I would advise you to run a disk cleanup tool before running any of the anti-malware scans rjfvillarosa has suggested. ATF Cleaner (http://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html) or CCleaner (http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/) are good cleanup tools - you don't need to install the toolbar and allow it to cleanup junk files less than 48 hours old.

After, you've cleaned up and ran scans please post/attach the Malwarebytes log and a new HJT log.

OK so ive cleaned my house, and ran some more scans. explorer.exe still wont start. MSServer seems to be a culprit, somehow. Malwarebytes tells me it has cleaned it, but after a restart it is back! please see the logs below
