I have the following setup.

1 Linksys WRT54G Rounter
1 Linksys EG008W Gigabit Switch
1 File Server Purpose: 6 500GB HDD for all files (music, tv shows)
1 Dell XPS desktop Purpose: Don't use too often.
1 Alienware m9700 notebook Purpose: Primary gaming machine
1 Dell m1730 notebook Purpose: wifes primary machine

I have an Alienware case as well that I will build myself later for a gaming machine instead of using my notebook. I want to have the best anti-virus, spyware, malware, etc. protection on each system. Currently I am using McAfee. I also have Norton Anti-virus as well but I don't care for the way it looks.

What would be the best setup to have the best protection among all systems? It would be nice to be able to manage each computer from another computer.

You will find that the most pushed AV here is AVG, Avast, and AntiVir, which one is best? that would be personal preference. But McAfee and Nortons are bloated, and slow. One my windows machine I personally use

Linksys WRT54GS - with DD-WRT firmware
AVG 8.0
Comodo Firewall Pro - I don't get a warm fuzzy from any security app MS releases
I run a Host file from here: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm which I feel greatly reduces spyware / malware, and pop-ups.
I have installed on all windows computers Spybot Search & Destroy, Spyware Terminator, and CCleaner. I run these every 4 to 6 months and they may only find the occasional tracking cookie that I use to remember usernames & passwords on forums and such.
I use specifically Firefox, I don't use IE with the exception of updating MS products occasionally.

This is just my personal preferences, the next poster may run something totally different.
