I'm having the same problem the other guy did with going to digg.com and my browser automatically taking me to xpsecuritycenterr.com....
Let me give some specifics:
I downloaded superantispyware and the other one that was listed on the other thread and ran both in safe mode. A DNSchanger trojan was found and I deleted it. Still same problem.
I have a static IP address set up because I have a vonage router and I port forwarded the router in order to use utorrent more efficiently.
If I turn the static address off and go back to automatically assigning IP's I can access digg just fine. But with the static address set up, it takes me to xpsecuritycenterr.com.
I'm running XP Pro SP2 for what it's worth.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

What are you using for DNS addresses when you set the static IP?
What you should do is this - when you use DHCP, open a command prompt and run ipconfig/all - and look at the DNS and default gateway it's automatically issuing, use those.

glc, thanks for responding:
I'm using the exact numbers ipconfig/all tells me to.. Only difference being is where it says "DHCP Enabled"---it's set to No. Should I enable it?
I'm pretty computer savvy (believe it or not) but when it comes to network settings, I'm an IDIOT.
1. Set it to obtain an IP automatically.
2. Verify that everything works.
3. Run ipconfig/all and copy down the following:
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Servers
4. Assign the static IP that you want and use the values you copied down for those 3 items.

Interesting-------it worked... Not sure why though...
I did exactly what you said and it turns out that my default gateway and DNS servers are the same number. Is that right? Also, I was only able to input 1 DNS server, as I only obtained 1 from the ipconfig/all area. Is it okay with just 1 DNS server input?
So when I reset my vonage router and reload the settings (which I do daily) are there any config changes I need to make with that?
Thanks for the help by the way.

That's okay. The default gateway is the router, and it's doing DNS transfer. No config changes necessary - all you changed was computer settings.
What I'd do for a bit more accuracy is this. Log into the router, and find the WAN/Internet status page. Use the DNS servers that it's displaying there. Those will be your actual DNS servers as assigned by the ISP.
If you have any more issues, run ipconfig/flushdns. This will clear out the DNS resolver cache in the operating system.
Why are you resetting and reloading the router every day? That should not be necessary. You should do a simple power cycle maybe once a week, and a reset/reload only when something breaks.

I reset/reload the router daily, because it seems to go stale and I don't get NEAR the bandwidth as when I reset it.. It seems to go stale or something.
Also, when I look at my WAN settings, it doesn't specifically list a DNS number. Only IP address, mask, and gateway (all under DHCP settings).
