I have two hard drives in my computer. One is SATA and the other is PATA. Is there a way to boot from the PATA drive? In the bios, I can choose a boot device priority, but there is only one option for a hard disk and that results in the computer booting from the SATA drive. The motherboard is an ASUS A8N5X.

Often times, BIOS's will "hide" certain drives in the boot priority menu. I am not familiar with your particular motherboard BIOS, but check the boot menu/settings tab if available to see if the PATA drive is disabled as a boot option. The PATA drive, regardless of whether it is actually bootable or not, should show up on the boot menu as an option.
