Hi. everyone. I brought the WinTv HVR 1250 tuner card from Dell a week ago. I wanted to view and record the extended cable channels(beyond channel 100) that comcast cable has to offer. I have a DVR, but the shows I want to record are in conflict with each other. How do I configure the tuner to receive channels beyond 100? I am not talking about the premium channels. I would like to record BET, TVONE. etc. Any assistance will be appreciated. deanie44:confused:

According to the product discription, that tuner card has only a 125 channel tuner. So, if the channels you want are above 125, your out of luck.

Thank you for answering my post flanzig1. Do they sell tv tuner cards that have 125+ channels? Can you replace existing channels with the channels that I want? maryhigginsrice

Hello.I personally have not seen an internal tv card with more than 125 channel capability, but Im not going to say they dont exist, but I think if you want to go more than 125 channels you are going to be looking at an external TV tuner box, those I have seen with 200+ channel capabilities plus other options you dont see on internal cards.Im going to post a link you can have a look to see what im talking about and take it from there.Hope this helps you out.

I am not positive on this, but this is how I think it would work. Depedning on your setup, you would not actually user the channels in the Tuner. That is for getting over-the-air channels, not channels from Satellite or Cable. So it would work like Satelite. I have DirecTV. My "channel" on my TV stays on "3" at all times. The satellite box changes channels, not the TV. Now you have cable. Do you have a set-top box? If so, you would change channels on that. If there is no box, just the Coaxial coming out of the wall, I guess you would need the tuner card to change channels and need the 125+.

Als, why did you buy from DELL? you probably way overpaid for it. Hauppauge is a great brand though.

Thank you mattaggie for answering my post. My dvr controls the channel changing too. I tv always stays on channel 4. The set is for the cable: wall--dvr--tv tuner wihich is inside of my pc. I IR Blaster is positoned correctly on the dvr. I programmed the media center remote and the cable remote to work together. Unfortunately, when I go to media center to con-
figure my tv input and i claim that the channel is 4 the channels do not change. I do not understand why this will not work? Do you have any more suggestions to offer. deanie44

Can you just not use the media center remote? Just use your regular cable remote to change the channel.
