Hey everyone. I currently have a laptop with two empty partitions of about equal size. I want to install windows XP on one and (a legitimate copy) of Leopard on the other...my only problem is I cant get it to boot from the Mac OS dvd to save my life. Everyone talks about using a pirated/burned copy, but from I can tell the only differences is a few patches which can be done later, so I cant understand why this wont work.

Specific Symptoms:
Can boot from Windows XP CD
Cannot boot from Mac DVD, will not even give me the "Press any key to boot from CD..."
CD/DVD Drive is set to priority over the HDD in the BIOS
When I Hit ESC to "change boot order," then select CD/DVD drive and force it to boot from there, nothing happens.

Any thoughts?

Presumption of innocence applies : this is the deal.

You can not load a MAC OS on to Windows hardware ( and a Windows bios) without a hack.
It isn't legal and as you have found out it won't work.
If you have a MAC PC you can use Boot Camp to load Windows.

Hmm, was worried that was coming.
Well, thanks for the speedy and helpful reply. Guess its time to merge those two partitions :(

Thanks again
