Does anyone have any recommendations on quick and easy (!) Backup software? Just went through a frustrating episode for a friend - hard drive crashed, financial data for the company was backed up to a ZIP250, but the Iomegaware software was an older version and the original CD was long gone - went through MUCH trial & tribulation before recovering most of his data!!

The IOMEGA 1-step Backup is simple, although not sure of the reliablity of the later releases. Would appreciate anyone's input / experiences / recommendations! Thanks!!

WIN98 has "MS Backup" that seems to work ok. That's what I use. Look under "Accessories" >> "System Tools" to see if it's installed. If not just install it from the WIN cd.

Hi jpolanosky,

The new Iomega software works just fine for simple, automatic backups of data. For something a little more robust, go with Norton Ghost (full system backup). You'll need a couple of 250 disks for that, though.

Why not get another harddrive of the same size? They are cheap enough. That way you can use the free software (xcopy32) that comes with windows to backup harddrive to harddrive. If you put it in a removable cage ($15.00 extra) you can remove the backup for safekeepping or just turn it off to prevent wear. Certainly a better solution than multiple disks of any other flavor.

For the ultimate in convenience put your regular drive in a removable frame too. That way, if you have a problem, you just swap disks and you are back running.
