Hey all. I have this problem where my computer boots up, goes real slow, then reboots, in a loop.

I want to try to boot it up in safe mode to run an anti-virus to try and correct the problem, but I think because I am using a wireless keyboard, the computer will not respond to my f4 or tab or whatever because it does not recognize the USB wireless keyboard until it gets to the windows screen. Any help? Do I actually have to go out and buy a wired PS2 keyboard so that I can boot into safe mode? or do I let it cycle through the boot up, reboot again, and it should work?

Any ideas?

Any help appreciated. Thanks a lot!

edit: yikes. I just found out it is a Vundo trojan virus. This is bad. I was out of town for a week before christmas and my desktop is in my brothers room. When I come back, my computer doesnt work. I have no idea what he did and am even more clueless on what I can do to fix this problem :(

No, but you might have to borrow one to get into the bios to enable legacy USB. I'd buy one just to have one anyway.

F8 is the normal key to get into the Safemode.

Remove the hard drive and get a USB adapter.

Connect it to another computer - hotplug it after the computer is already booted up. Go to www.malwarebytes.org and download MBAM free version and do a complete scan on it.

I doubt Fry's carries that adapter.
