My son and I recently each got a copy of WinXP. We both run Win98 SE on our systems and he was anxious to install XP and dual boot config. His problem comes with the ATA 66 HighPoint 366 controller not being recognized in device manager in XP. Does he need to reinstall the controller in XP or is it just not being recognized in that OS? I have essentially the same setup as my son, both Abit BX boards, PIII processors...blah blah..blah. The only difference is that my board had onboard ATA66 support with 2 additional controllers and he is using an Abit Hotrod66 in a PCI slot. I too want to dual boot, but with this and another networking problem he has run into, I am hanging back to learn from his mistakes.....Not timid, just not as much free time as he. Is there4 a BEST way to setup this kind of configuration? I have suggested to him to go to hardware AND software sites and look at what they have on XP compatability or driver updates. Any thoughts or suggestions?
