When I watch a movie or listen to music in media player the sound is usually very low resulting in me turning my PC speakers all the way up. The issue is that when I do anything in windows that results in a sound, like new mail or the you cant do that 'dunt' its loud enough to hear on the street. Where do I go to adjust the media sounds to be equal to the Windows sounds? I run k-lite codec pack and have adjusted the AC3 filter to max on everything and the same with windows volume control.

No idea.
Have you tried a different media player to see if it has the same result?
Also, did you check under sounds or audio in control panel?
What about the options/settings in media player?

I haven't tried a different media player, but I have tried adjusting the settings in control panel, in media player, and in the AC3 setup.
