Copied to here from Graphics/Gaming by me to hopefully get more contribution to this as a networking type of question.
It sounds like your ping has more than doubled. But there's probably nothing you'll be able to do about, nor your broadband provider. Granted, 30 thousandths of a second shouldn't be noticeable, nor should it seem like three seconds.
About the only thing you can do is run a traceroute from a command prompt. To do this, open a dos box start>run>cmd if on NT/2000/XP, or start>run>command on Win9x/ME. At the prompt type "tracert 123.456.789.012", replace those numbers with the correct IP of the server that game is hosted on, hit enter when all is correct. Most of the time, the additional .030 seconds will be located on a server or node between your provider and the game host; not you to your provider.
Hope this helps.
100 is different than 130, trust me ;).
But, on the other hand, your ISP will most likely hang up on you when you complain about such a little rise in latency, so you'll just have to deal with it probably.

Culbunda-
Can you please describe for us how you set this up? Describe layout of your hardware, then how you configured the devices. It might give us a clue about why your "broadband" is so slow.

Go to www.pcpitstop.com and run test there. I did and then ran the fix they suggested and it did wonders for my cable connection.
