Hello, im getting ready to purchase a computer with these specs, athlon x2 2.3ghz, 3 gigs of ram. Im planning on putting my money in a good graphics card and psu. Here is my question. Im planning on getting a 23 inch acer with a resolution of 1900x1080. Will this affect my ram and proccesor or is resolution solly running from the gpu? I need to know if the 23 inch is going to affect my overall pc performance, if it is i may be going with a 22 inch 1680x1050 resolution. Or can i depend on my video card to get the job done? Please let me know your thoughts about this, thank you very much in advance for your help. P.S i was thinking of going with an nvidia 9800gt or 8800gt.

The ATI Radeon 4850 will give you 1920 x 1080.

Any video card made in the last few years will easily handle that resolution. You don't have to worry about overall PC performance suffering from high resolution. Running high-end games at that resolution will need a powerful PC though.

kinda confused though "Running high-end games at that resolution will need a powerful PC" if ill need a more power PC does that mean resolution does affect overall performance? Im mainly concerned about running World of warcraft. Should i go with the 22inch monitor?
That computer with a 8800GT or 9800GT will play WoW fine at that resolution.

Keep in mind that just running the Windows Desktop at a high resolution does not require a lot of video processing power. But when you crank up a game like Crysis and expect it to run at that resolution, you'd need some real horsepower. But as glc said, WoW is not a game like that so no worries. :)

Photoshop won't have any problems with that resolution. I currently have WOW running maxed out with resolution of 1920x1200 on the backup computer in my sig. I would take a look at getting a HD4830 over a 9800GT since the performance is pretty much the same except the HD4830 is a good bit less expensive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102822
