Hello all...This is a desperate plea for help...:(

I have a 500GB external hard drive...My PC got a bug ( PCIDPinch-something-a trojan).I couldnt seem to shift it,so reformatted and started afresh...Now this is where it gets weird...

On my external drive, the properties are saying all is correct-420GB used,50odd free, and yet all the folders bar one are still there but empty..Where in hells name is all my work???I seem to have lost everything,10 years of audio/visual work...Where has it gone to?If it wasnt there, surely it would say 420GB Free????

Can someone please help to recover this?Im going nuts...

Thanks loads

AW

Did you save the files somewhere before REFORMATTING?

I believe they have reformatted their Windows Drive, and now can't find their backed up data on the external drive.

Sounds like the FAT or the equivalent in NTFS if its formatted so has become corrupt. The files are still there but cannot be seen. Theres a good chance recovery software will get it back.
