I have a replacement on the way for my mobo that flaked out about 10 days ago. I hope it will be an exact replacement of Abit BE6-II, Rev 2.0. If it is, and the BIOS is the same, will I have to do anything other that plug it in, enter setup for my rig's specs, and let her rip?
If it is not the exact same board, with a different BIOS, will I have to do some tweaking? Or for that matter, will I run a risk of booting from old HD.
I would have liked to remove devices first and then transfer as I have seen in previous posts but the old board died without much notice...:(
Finally, if I have the option of doing this without loss of data, I would like to setup a RAID array. Can I install 2 new HD's on new rig in a RAID 0, and leave the third drive the way it is?
I've seen posts from HAL suggesting this...but can it be done with an active drive that has lots of programs and data as the "third but normal" drive and games and such on the RAID drives?
