DV Editing

Does anyone have any suggestions in the way of good digital video editing software? I am currently using MGI VideoWave 4. It works well but I am looking for something that allows for mor special effects other than just transitions and text effects. Cost is not that big of an issue. Suggestions appreciated!

Yes, high end Pioneer + Authorware 5 + Adobe Premiere = Love.
Not very many special effects in this configuration, however. Maybe somebody else has experience with this...

How bout some suggestions on a DVD-RW? I haven't really looked to see whats out there nor have anyone close by that I could check out.

For my blood, Adobe Premiere+Adobe After Effects+Pixar's Renderman=JoyJoyJoy!

After Effects is the real player in SFX for video. Renderman's got some fun stuff as well.

You can spend more (Avid Media Composer or Symphony) but Avid's only benefit over Adobe is rendering time. If you've got a firewire card with on-board rendering (Pinnacle Sys DV-500 or better) then rendering's not an issue.

Thanks for the reccomendation. A friend of mine does have the complete Adobe collection (Premier, After Effects, Go Live, Illustrator, you get the idea......). I think I'll give the adobe a try and see how I like it.
