When ever I boot my computer, my dvd-rom is recognized sometimes, and not recognized sometimes, t's not in the device manager,it's nowhere to be found. Anyone with any ideas?? I've taken it out, replaced the cable, put back in, same thing....

Hi MGradyMO,
Make sure it is recognized in the BIOS. Is it on it's own IDE channel? I had one on with a Burner and it wouldn't work till I made it the master, it would not work as the slave.
