jus wanted to ask u guys whats better for the resolution 800,1024,1150,... is more better, does it make it more clear? 75hz...17 inch flat panel kds:rolleyes:
I have a 17" monitor, I use 1024x768@32
Flat panel ? I assume it's a TFT. Well in this case you should run it at its native resolution (for 17" it's usually 1280x1024), then it will give you the sharpest and clearest picture.
Also run it at 60Hz, it's the best for TFT's.
17" TFT. . cool, I envy you, only have 15" TFT ;)

thanks! but so that means that the max resolution 1280x1024@75hz would give the best picture you can get out of the monitor ? btw its a a-si tft lcd.:)

or is 60hz better than the 75hz?
Yep, 1280x1024 would give you the best picture. Just try other resolutions, you'll see the difference. .
And yes, 60Hz is better than 75, so use 60Hz instead of 75.

Note that 60 Hz is best for a TFT, but for a CRT you should go as high as you can, 100 Hz is ideal.

I tried the newer resolution but its off center, is there anyway that I can make it center automatically w/o messing with the montitors settings.
Many TFTs have an "auto-tune" feature that automatically sets the optimal settings. This auto-tune is either a button on the monitor itself or an option within the OSD (on-screen display).
