This is cool.

At long last, I connected my computers via ethernet lan. I can actually
see 1 set of files from the other computer.

Even cooler, the wife has downloaded some shareware stuff on the puter
with the modem. 30 or 90 days or whatever have passed, so her shareware
doesn't work anymore. NOT!!!!!

I can still fire it up from the other computer. Her newest kick is
bejewelled, think she got it from microsnot site. Told her if she wanted
me to, I'd install it to the 550 AMD puter, but I browsed the Thunderbird
first, and clicked on the jewel exe file, and played from the 550.

Maybe that won't work for other things, I suppose that her program scanned
the registry on the computer calling it to exercise, didn't find any
expire date, so ran like it's supposed to. I still got the "do you want to
register now?" screen, but it ran.

Something to play with and investigate, if anyone is interested.

I experianced this same feeling of joy after spending a few good hours setting up my first network. I was so pumped, and I've learned alot maintaining it.
