Hello,
I hope this is the right board to post this on (?). I have been looking for a Digital Camera lately. I would like to spend no more than around 300 dollars. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions. I have been looking around for about a month now and there is just to much out there and I feel like I will buy a dud. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Most of the big boys (i.e. Nikon, Minolta, Olympus, Pentax) produce a consumer grade model. What I look for when I look at digital cameras is how many megapixels does the camera yield (mega=million, pixels are the tiniest unit on your monitor screen). This is the prime indicator of what the resolution of the image will appear on your screen. Here's an article that may help you;)

Iv got a Sony Cyber-shot 1.3Mega Pixel. Great camera. It was around $300 when I bought it last year.
Removable/upgradable memory stick, USB connection:computer sees it as a hard drive, just cut and past to anywhere. Very easy. Nice clear pictures. LCD screen.
First purchase was a Polorid 1.3Mega Pixel. Took it back(crappy pictures). Went with the Sony.
My brother has a Nikon that also takes great pictures
Hope this helps.:D
Whatever you buy, you might want to allow about $100 for peripherals: battery and battery charger; disk reader; and extra memory. You can by all or each of these THIRD PARTY. You might do well to purchase these at separate places. I've found that those that have the camera at cheap prices make up for it in the peripherals.
You might check out the Xmas sales out there. The Kodak DX 3215 isn't a great camera. But it's the cheapest one with OPTICAL ZOOM. I bought one for my son. Kodak, itself, is the cheapest place to get the memory for that camera. It uses a regularly expensive media.
My favorite in that price range is the Kodak DX3600.

Another vote for the Koday DX3600 -- great pics even up to 8x10.
