ME + Partition Magic 7

I was working on a machine for a friend that (despite all my complaining) runs ME.

PM7 does a lot of it's work in DOS< which of course is gone in ME.

PM creates a .bat file that should run at boot with ME to overcome the DOS problem, but it doesn't work on this box.

What we have been doign is

(1) applying the changes and rebooting - no changes are actually made, as the .bat doesn't run at start up.

(2) booting to a bootdisk/dos prompt and manually running the .bat file.

This works 100%, but is a real pill.

Just wondering what is wrong; all the articles I could find indicate that none of this should be necessary.

I use PM6 on 98/2000 and have no problems (but I do have DOS).

Does anyone use ME w/ PM6 or 7?

Well, I use PM7 on both my ME machines and I use it at work without any problems at all. So I don't think it's a valid reason to despise ME as it's most likely a problem elsewhere.
