I have a friend that wants a good webcam. I have no experience here. He's talking 40+ FPS. Any and all recommendations of what brand & model to suggest to him are appreciated.

Thanks..

Most "webcams" won't do anything past 32fps, there's no point.
If you want more, spend more, and get a digital cam. Most of them double (or triple) as a webcam, and movie machine. Intel makes a couple that do all 3, with (something like) 600 still pics, 7 minutes of .avi video, or a webcam.
If you JUST want a webcam, the 3com home connect is a great cam, some of the highest quality resolution for a cheap cam.

I'll agree with Reboot -- no webcam will do what your friend wants. Hell, no camera will. Even a digital video camera will only output 30fps. Some digital video cams will go as high as 48fps (movie mode: 24fps x 2), but those cameras will go for $2000+.

Thanks fellers... I'll wake him up. What you say is what I'm finding out searching the web and suppliers also. I may just send him down to Best Buy.
