A small office with 20 users, running WinNT4.0 Server, SP6, clients are win95x and Win2k Pros. Protocol used TCP/IP and NetBeui. Brain at 'blank' at what to look in a laser COLOR printer. Any recommendations of what to buy ? Not looking for a top of the line ones, just the medium quality ( I know it's hard). Of course, looking for those that are network ready, no deskjet please.

TigerDirect.com has some really good deals on color laser printers, a couple of which are under $1000 at the moment.

Altough they are about $4000 new, you may be able to find a deal on a used HP 4500TN. Very reliable and high Color and B/W throughput. The difference in the amount you pay for color printers is almost always in the pages per minute speeds.

Hi, as a matter of fact, when I showed my boss the price tag of 4500TN, her lower jaw fell to the ground. I'ts beyond her pocket money. I guess we may stick to just a low end desk jet printer.

Thanks for the comments, and " Merry Christmas " to all of you people.

Have you considered renting/leasing a high-end model (with installation, maintenance included)?

Since this is a small office, I'm sure you guys have a copier. You might give your copier rep. a call and ask about leasing a color copier that can be networked.

And the copier leasing...... , Good point, never thought of that scenario . Need to clarify, over about it. Over "here", not US, online Business, is not really that 'common' yet. I would say, it's something that hasn't taken "shape", because of many factors. It looks like an 'catepillar',and yet to grow to become a butterfile. "Well , long story.....anyway since the company is 'dried' of cash , we see sometime later, maybe.. Hope it won't close down, then I will probably miss PC mechanic site, and back to Engineering again. Well goodnite !
