Alright this is a problem I have been encountering for approx. two months. While my computer is running, it runs fine, but if I shut it down I encounter problems. When I attempt to boot up again I recieve no video feed, but do recieve four, very annoying beeps from the PC speaker. As the fourth tone ends the computer shuts down. I've done a little investigating, and checked my memory, fans, hard-drives, and all other drives. They all light up, spin, move, or in the case of the memory test out okay. I'm suspecting a virus, but really don't want to admit to defeat and wipe the drive, lol. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I send thanks in advance, D39.

P.S. If I simply restart the computer the same thing happens, and after a few minutes of continous power & restart button pushing the computer finally powers up, and functions normally.

As mentioned, determine what bios you have either Award, Phoenix,
or AMI. Then you can go to the link I have provided to decipher the code.
There are three pages there you can get to the next page by clicking on the number 1 2 or 3 at the bottom of the first code listing.

Have you tried re-seating your video card?
