add/remove (software/applications) gone from control panel??

never had this happen before, any tips?

just a follow up, if i double click appwiz.cpl i get the add/remove programs application to run, but i want the icon back in control panel

another follow-up and after posting this thread and doing research for an answer, here's what i found...edit the 'control.ini' file and remove it from the [don't load] section, like the following:

[don't load]
snd.cpl=no
joystick.cpl=no
midimap.drv=no
sticpl.cpl=no

just to fyi any folks that might be having similar or run across similar problems...i'm always learning :)

Do you have TweakUI installed? It has an option to remove control panel icons.
