Partition Question

I have a 30g IBM Deskstar HDD not partitioned, just one big drive.
Can I use the WIN98 boot disc and make a second partition without a full f/disk and reformat?

You can do what you want, but not with FDISK and format.

If the partition has the size of the entire drive you need to resize the partition to make space for the partition you want to add.
FDISK just let you remove the existing partition (and all your data stored there), then you can create two partitions for your drive.

I'd use Partition Magic from PowerQuest. With this tool you can resize the partition without losing your data and then add a new one.
