super large Icons

hi, calling on behalf of a friend who has windows me, something I'm not familiar with. All of a sudden when he boots up, his desktop displays oversized icons, that look horrible, corrupted sort of. he thought perhaps he was is in safe mode but there is no indication that he is or that this would make any difference. this happened to me once on my windows 98 but I can't remember how I got the icons back to normal. please help, he is going crazy for days now.

Hi jhona,

If the icons are really big, that's one of the features of the Accessibility Option in Control Panel. It makes the icons extra large for people who are visually impaired.

It might also be the if the resolution is set to 640x480 or lower. Tell him to go into display properties and then settings to check.

A great little desktop utility that can help control this sort of thing and give you easy selection over the desktop appearance is DisplaySet from the PC-Mag Link below. (At the time I am writing this the PC-Mag Site is down, or I just cannot get through the system here)
