I own an ASUS Geforce2 V7700 Pro videocard and I want to overclock because I want to play a game I bought but my videocard is too slow.

The standard values are:
Engine 201
Memory 401

I'm using the standard 12.90 drivers for the card

I really don't know how far to overclock the thing, can some1 help me?
I want to get maximum out of this card!
The reliability must be good enough to last for 1 year(in about 10 months I'm buying a new card, so this one goes away at that time).

Howdy,
From what I understand, ME has to be the worst O/S for gaming.
Your vid card which is a step above mine GeForce 256 should perform VERY well.
I suggest you crank up the CPU. The PIII-600 does 800 easily and this would also give you a usable boost. As far as ME, I may be wrong, I don't do "Micky$oft" but that seems to be the gab. On top of everything else, the Ultra should also crank well. Some get 100% above spec but the norm is nearer 50%.
Maybe others could educate on the ME thing but that O/S seems to have too much to do to perform.

I'm gonna disagree with you on this one Toaster. I run WinME and find that gaming really isn't any different in WinME that it is in Win98. 3DMark2000 benchmarks were only minimally better with WinME on my system (about 20 points). The only thing I really notice better with WinME over Win98 is a faster boot time and that some programs launch noticably faster. WinME seems to handle memory over 256Mb a bit better too. Other than that, performance wise, they seem pretty equal.

Howdy,
I'm sure our super computer friend here (Hal) has better knowings then I when it comes to Micky$oft O/Ss. It might be best to consider what he has to say and others then mine. I "do" Micky$oft only for new games that come out and then the system is set aside.
