Hi All:

I wonder if anyone can tell me why when I zip some of my files, they show
"bad date", and others show dates?

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about .....

http://home.att.net/~zoe1/webdoc-01.html .

I would like for these files to show the dates, because some people are
afraid to unzip them when they see "bad date".

As always, your help will be very much appreciated !!!

Thanks ahead of time,

Bill Lane

Hi DrZaius:

No I'm using 6.0, it was free, is the 8.1 free also?

I'll scout around, and see if I can find the 8.1.

Do you think that might solve the problem? :-)

Thanks again,

Bill Lane

Well, 6.0 wasn't really free, and so is V8.1

In your screenshot it's said that your version is "unregistered". So you have the free download, which is like the full version, but you have to click on "I agree" every startup.
V8.1 is the same. You can download it for free.

Not sure if that will fix the problem. You also could try another archive program, such as WinAce (www.winace.com) It's free also (unregistred) and can decompress everything and compress nearly everything ;)

Hi Bill,

All versions of WinZip (http://www.winzip.com) are shareware (latest version is 8.1), meaning that you can use them for free only it will have a "nag screen" that requests you register it. I like using EnZip (http://www.cpam.freeserve.co.uk/) because it has almost all the features that WinZip has only it's totally free (freeware). Hope that helps.

Hi DrZaius, and RJ:

I downloaded version 8.1, and it looks like it solved the bad date
problem, and yes I have to click "Agree" every time I use it because
it's unregistered. I'll also look at that WinAce too, maybe I'll like
it better.

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it !!!

Hi DrZaius:

I think I like the EnZip best, it's not as complicated.

Thanks again,
