Abit BM6 (intel 440 bx) Question for Hal9000/Toaster

Hi I have a new Abit 440 Bx motherboard.
My question is this. I know this board will support a 400mgz
Celleron PPGA but will it support a Celleron 700mgz FCPGA?
The board does have soft menu and supports 66/100 mgz FSB
My problem is this I cant get it to boot with the 700 mgz chip
but I know it will boot right up with the 400mgz chip because I just built the same system a month ago from the same vendor.
From a lot of posts I have read this puppy will run almost anything you throw at it. Am I right?
What do I have to do? Upgrade the bios with a 400mgz chip?

This is what BM6 latest(almost) bios update supports:

Supports Celeron 566(66) and 600(66) MHz CPUs.

I don't have any specs on the Abit boards as I haven't used them for a while. They're good boards, but our supplier uses ASUS. If it can do a FC-PGA Celeron, it should be able to run just about any of the coppermine core Celerons. You may need a BIOS update for it to function properly though. When the Celeron A chips came out, I kept a Celeron 266 just for that purpose. Still haven't sold that chip either, it will do a 150Mhz FSB and run at 600Mhz!

I'll have to do a little homework. In the meantime maybe Toaster will jump in with a good little something.

In most instances, that particular board supports "flip-chip" CPUs and their needed voltages. However, there seems to be a rev of that board that DOES NOT.
Make sure that you find the rev of the board and explore the BIOS update options.
I primarily use ASUS but have used ABIT boards. While the ABIT is a fine board, I liked the old school jumpers on the ASUS P2B-P2B/F system boards.
I'd like to explore the BX-133 board but havn't as yet. Rumors suggest that this board will support anything in the Cel-mine/PIII class but this is conjecture.

I'm going to go down the bios route and see where it leads me.
First I have to get a PPGA Celeron CPU in order to get a system post then I will take it from there. I'll let you know how I fare.
