A friend of mine has win 95 on a low end pc and lots of file run in the background and zap his ram.
In win 98 and ME you disable the if you type in the "run" box I think msconfig.
It dont work on win 95.
I have tried looking in the start up file in windows and not all the programs are there.
Can anyone help, money is an option so an upgrade is out of the question for now.

Look in the following Registry keys but be careful. Be sure to backup your registry before making any changes.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce]
