When I turn on my PC (using Windows ME) the log off feature comes up and asks for a password. I have searched Help to no end. I would like to remove it... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks:)

If you aren't on a network, and don't use a password, I believe this issue can be resolved by going into Control panel/network, and removing "Client for Microsoft Network". But, you may want a confirmation response from someone else before doing that.

I will try it and get back to you! Thank You!!!
Or you can download Tweak UI (http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-1461985-100-2830963.html?tag=st.dl.10001-103-1.lst-7-1.2830963) and turn on the auto log in option.

Instead of Client for Microsoft Networks, I believe you will probably find Microsoft Family Logon and/or Windows Logon installed in your network components. A lot of dialup ISP's require Client for Microsoft Networks to be installed to authenticate on their servers so if you remove it you will get authentication failure when you dial up. Remove Family Logon and Windows logon from the components and add Client for Microsoft Networks. It will ask you to reboot. After the reboot if the logon screen does come up, enter something in the user name field AND LEAVE THE PASSWORD BLANK AND CLICK O.K. If you do this you should never see that logon screen again.

Thanks, azscary, you are correct. I knew it was something, but I don't have dial up, and couldn't be certain. Thanks for clarifying that.

Not a problem. I do dialup tech support for Earthlink, and I have to deal with that kind of thing every day.
