I have power management set to shut the monitor off and idle the hard drive. Lately they will not wake up when I move the mouse or hit the keyboard. Anyone know why this is happening. thanks, tarheel

Advanced Power Management in Windows has always had a bunch of differant problems, like coming back from standby. You can mess around with it by going to microsoft or to links like the place below, but honestly the best thing is to set it to NEVER>NEVER>and NEVER. THen just turn the monitor off and leave the system on. By the way, when the monitor and computer are on it uses about the same power as a 160watt light bulb, with the monitor off it is about 60 watts.

Thanks for that information Morris. tarheel
Thanks Morris. I've been trying for 2 years to get my stand by feature back and that link did the job. the only question I have is what should the fan setting be set to in BIOS..Always on? or the other option I can't think of right now Thanks again
