Could someone give me some info please:
I am buying a new comp in the next few weeks, and plan to give
my 7yr old godson my old comp.
I wnat to clear the hard drive of stuff that is no use for him thus giving him more disk space. What would be the best way to do this, for example I would want to remove the scanner printerand some files related to my work.
Thanks

I would start by going to start, settings, control panel, and then double clikc add/remove programs and go down the list and remove anything it looks like he wont be needing. This will surely free up some space. If you want to do it the right way, I reccomend a reformat if you have the OS on cd and all of the programs such as office. Any questions, feel free to reply!

Boot up the PC and get into windows
Insert a blank floppy disk in the floppy drive
Go to Control Panel
Add and Remove Programs and on one of the tabs (I can't remember which one) choose create bootdisk.

When that is complete reboot and boot to that floppy disk.

Also, if the CDROM is bootable you should be able to boot to the Win95 CD

As far as formating. You can do that after you boot to the floppy or

you can do that during the Win95 install but don't quote me on that. You might get a message saying there is already an os present on the partition something something something.

Good luck.

P.S.
To format from the floppy
After booting to the floppy type
format c: /u
if that doesn't work for some reason then just type
format c:
