wtf? there is this winme / 64mb/20gb using ontrack (pentium 200mmx) and its so odd...since some time when writing on oe5 or wordxp random characters appears, from time to time, on the screen...

swaped keyboards and there is still happenening.

there is no virus here, can gurantee that (nav2k2 installed/updated) and used the pandasoftware online virus check.
i remember that badtrans behaved that way...

thanks in advance for ne help here pals...its really annoying and frustrating...

would appreciate ne help.

respect.

If you're sure it's not a virus, it could be a bad video card.

Maybe a video card if it is trace colors. But random characters sounds like virus to me. If it is not that I would suspect a corrupted OS.

mmm wtf...gonna change it...just in case...but...
its like this - u wrote a word and when u rise up your head u realize that there is an '8' and there is, lets said, a 'f' a few words ahead...

happens in word and oe...so far.

thanks dood.

a couple scans don't guarantee absence of virii. I use Ontrack primarily, had a prob with js.exception.gen. I scanned and removed, prob came back. I used Norton for a scan, then McAfee, for multiple scans. 3 days after I was certain that all instances of it were gone, Ontrack again alerted me to it. Back to multiple scans. Some of them are tricky!!!!!

k. i will install panda and see whats on the hood.
all this is kinda odd....mostly 'cause i dont know what to do, do u suggest another antivirus for a full scan? does ontrack has ne thing to do with this problem?

thanks pal.

This is the reason I suggest using more than one scanner to trace a possible virus. And yes, a bad video card can make all kinds of strange charachters on the screen, from letters, to punctuation, to smiley faces.
