Confused

Big time screw up. Tried to network my PC running XP and wife's PC running WIN98. My XP PC created a disk that I loaded on hers. Hers won't access the Internet through the router now. MY PC running XP does. I went through the router book and all the setting are the same as before, but her PC on every boot ask for name and password and none were entered. I wanted to do a SCANREG/RESTORE but when I hit Cntl, Alt, Del it reboots without giving the start in DOS option. I booted up with a WIN98 boot disk to get to dos prompt and changed to C but I get bad command or file name with following commands;

c:\>Scanreg/restore
c:\>scanreg.exe/restore

Need help, afraid I'm past a good registry entry but would like to try, or if any ideas on how to fix other problem.
Thanks
Chas

Hi Confused,
Try putting a space between the g and / See if that works

I think it is: scanreg /restore with the space after scanreg. HTH

Try
C:\windows\command\scanreg /restore

Thanks for the replies, I got it. It wouldn't work booting up with a boot disk and I was trying to get to the DOS prompt wrong. I needed to go to Start, Shut Down and then choose "Boot to DOS prompt" from the displayed box. Did that and put in scanreg/restore and picked a date and all is OK. I like the XP version of restore a lot better.
Thanks again
Chas
